BIO
Gerry Ponterio: Artist/Photographer

If a picture is worth 1000 words, I've said too much already.
I am fortunate my career spans the Dektol to Digital period in photography. The technology has grown leaps and bounds in my time. I enjoy the best of both worlds.

To celebrate my 50th Anniversary, I launched this website to share my best work. I've developed a style of imaging inspired by the wood block print technique of reducing details into smaller blocks of color. Brain research has expanded our understanding of how we perceive images and how the brain interprets that information. My years in the printing industry significantly influenced my style. Many compositions incorporate letters, words, graphics and symbols. History is important to me, I learn from it and I try to preserve it with my work.

Thank you for viewing my work and please share with a friend.
